China leads the world by producing 21500 tons, which is almost half of the whole world’s aluminum production. The second is Russia with 3950 tons. Canada comes then with 2900 tons followed by the United States with 1950 tons. The last country on the list is the United Arab Emirates with a stunning amount of 1800 tons of aluminum. This is certainly a feat since the UAE is so small. All of the leading countries, except for the UAE, are quite big in territory (Russia is the first, Canada is the second for example). The UAE is 1/1000 – 1/10000 of China in territory, but the country produces 1/11 compared to China’s aluminum.
How can China produce that much aluminum?
China is the third largest country in the world and has the largest population. So, they have the manpower and the territory with the available resources. China has been doing a huge, large scale industrializing, concentrating on the heavy industry, in the last 15 years. They have cities, which have more factories than residential houses.

Almost everything is made in China. Almost all European and American companies are placing their factories in China, because production is very cheap there. The population is poor, so they do the job for a lower price. Another plus is, as the workers are very affordable there, companies can hire more, so the production could be faster. But, as the price goes down, so as the quality. Around 10 years ago, there were lots of scandals regarding low quality Chinese made products. Everyone can probably think about Chinese made products that you bought and after a month you couldn’t use it anymore. The whole world was “protesting” against these low quality products. So what did big companies do? The multinational companies have started to concentrate on quality in China. In fact, they taught their workers, how to better supply the world.
Other Countries Produce Higher Quality Aluminum
Though China is getting better and it is certainly possible to find high quality aluminum from China, if you will be buying aluminum, it is best to check out where the aluminum is coming from before you buy. Make sure the quality is high and that the product is guaranteed to meet your needs.
