New cannabis products are hitting the market on a regular basis. These days, the new rage is Delta 8 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It is taking the market by storm and is available in a variety of different retail shops and not just those in the cannabis business. What Precisely Is Delta 8
Delta 8 is a cannabinoid. Cannabinoids are the most active ingredients in cannabis. The most popular cannabinoid is Delta 9 THC, which comes from marijuana and gets it users high. There’s also cannabidiol (CBD), which primarily comes from hemp cannabis plants. Delta 8 occurs naturally in hemp and marijuana but in extremely low levels. For that reason, it is synthesized from CBD molecules through the process of isomerization.
Legality
Delta 8 was banned in October 2021 by the state of Texas. However, the ban was overturned shortly thereafter, making Delta 8 legal for the time being. Currently, a trial is scheduled for the end of January 2022 to settle the legality of this cannabinoid in Texas. Outside of Texas, you’ll find that it’s a state-by-state question, with many states having full or partial bans in place.
Effects
Delta 8 does get its users high. However, it is not nearly as psychoactive as its counter part, Delta 9. Additionally, users of Delta 8 report having not much if any experience with paranoia and anxiety, which are frequent side effects of smoking Delta 9.
