It stands to reason that car dealerships in Barrington have to profit from every transaction they make, if they didn’t they would not stay in business for very long. If you are considering the purchase of a used car you may be wondering if you should buy from a private party or a dealer. There are a number of things that you should consider before handing your money over.

Financing:

It is not as easy to finance the purchase of a used car as it is to finance a new car. Some banks will not entertain loaning money to buy a car that is over a certain age and even fewer offer financing purchases made from a private individual.

When you buy privately, the seller does not his or her reputation at stake; there is no good reason to divulge anything that is wrong with the car. If you finance a car that ends up to be nothing but trouble nothing is stopping you from walking away, leaving the bank stuck with a car that is virtually worthless. Banks are far more agreeable to finance a used car that has been purchased from a reputable dealership.

Reputation:

A dealer has a lot at stake; the dealer’s reputation is extremely important in the community. If a dealer was to sell a “lemon” or a car with numerous problems, he risks the ire of an angry buyer that can quickly damage the dealerships reputation. A private seller has no cares; he or she is not in the car business, buying from a private seller is definitely a situation of “buyer beware.” Reputable car dealerships in Barrington go out of their way to ensure honesty and in the event there is a problem, they solve it.

It my cost a little more to buy a used car at a dealer but the benefits far outweigh the extra cost.

Car dealerships in Barrington have a lot at stake and they are not going to risk selling cars under false pretenses. Arlington Heights Ford is proud to be recognized as one of the premier dealerships in the greater Chicago area.
