The ACT is a widely held test that is used as a college entrance exam. It can be highly stressful on high school students and many look into getting help by tutoring for act professionals. Tutoring for the ACT is a great way to make some extra money and you will be doing some teenage student a great service as well. Below you will find some tips on tutoring for act, so that you can make it as easy as possible for your student to learn as much as the can before the dreaded test date.

Since you are considering tutoring the ACT, you are familiar with the test already. If you aren’t familiar with the testing format, then you will want to study up on it so that you know what to tell your students to expect. For example if you are tutoring someone for the math portion of the test, you will need to know that it has 60 questions and that the student has 60 minutes in which to complete them.

You need to determine your student’s strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the different areas of the test, so that you can concentrate on teaching where they need the most help. It’s best to give them a practice ACT test to determine what areas they need to work on, and then start teaching from there.

How you spend your time is also determined by how your student learns. For example, if they have already taken the test and are just trying to score higher, you can spend more time on what they missed. If they are taking the ACT for the first time, you will need to spend a lot of time on the concepts and test taking itself. There are also several places that you can get the material you need to give practice test and such, so that you are not just making it up as you go. Becoming an ACT tutor is a great way to make some extra money for yourself and you are providing a service that is greatly needed by students everywhere.
