Wines are wonderful. If you love a good wine and you’re just new at this, here are some tips that could help you stock up on your wine rack at home.
Consider What You Like
When you shop around for wines, think of the flavors you like. Do you love pineapple? What about honey, green apple or almond? Check out the flavor notes of different wines. Go over your options for Olathe vineyards like KC Winery. Have fun going over their wine selections.
Check the Label
If you want to check if the wine is light or heavy, then check the label. If there’s stainless steel in there, then the wine is light. If you see oaked on the back of the label, then that wine is heavy.
Older isn’t Always Better
Most people think the older the wine is, the better. That’s not necessarily true. It all depends on the producer of the wine instead. Also, some wines need a bit more time from the aging process (the acidity and alcohol levels) that they need to age a bit before you can enjoy them. Not all the wines are like that, though.
Go with White to Avoid Stains
If you love red wines, though, that tends to leave stains on your teeth. However, one hack is that you can drink one glass of red and then follow it up with white. The white wine will help wash out the color of the first one.
Try Out a Ton of Flavors
Test whites. Test reds. Test flavors you’ve never tasted before. Check out flavor notes that interest you. Keep tasting as many wines as you can. That helps develop your taste. Also, you can find amazing options this way. You never know what flavors notes you’ll fall in love with the next if you don’t keep trying out blends you’ve shied away from before.
